Caroline Byrne murder for telemovie
Television Programmes
Production for the Network Ten telemovie A Model Daughter: The Killing Of Caroline Byrne commences this week in Sydney – starting at The Gap where Ms Byrne’s body was found in 1995.

The telemovie, from Screentime Australia, stars Garry McDonald, Gyton Grantley, David Lyons, Tiriel Mora and newcomer Cariba Heine who recently featured in children’s series H2O: Just Add Water and Blue Water High.

Des Monaghan from Screentime said the telemovie will focus on the relationships between Ms Byrne, boyfriend Gordon Wood and businessman Rene Rivkin:

“Rene’s certainly in there. We’ll look at all that. We tell what happened from the moment Caroline disappeared to the moment of Wood’s conviction. To a very large degree, it’s done from (father) Tony Byrne’s perspective.”

Tony Byrne had mixed feelings about the production:

“An essential part of moving on from such a horrific event is something to drag you forward. I look forward to helping them so they get it right. As long as it’s true and accurate – that’s the main thing.”

Gordon Wood was sentenced to jail for 17 years last December but has lodged an appeal.
